Introduces the various techniques used by the mass media. Presents the definitions, functions, and general evolution of communications, then analyzes the key concepts of media studies. Studies the effects of mass communication, along with the origins of print media, and its evolution to mass circulation journalism. Designed to familiarize students with the structure, form, content, and difficulties of the press, radio, television, and motion picture industries. Compares and presents all media in a historical context to emphasize their characteristics. Focuses on the important roles that advertising and public relations play in our lives. Illustrates class topics with examples taken from real-life Italian mass communication.
