Introduces philosophy by acquainting students with the theories and arguments of classical and contemporary philosophers. Offers students an opportunity to learn the skills of constructing and analyzing arguments. Emphasizes philosophical inquiry. Topics include the basis of morality, free will vs. determinism, the existence of God, the problem of suffering, and the nature of knowledge.
