Professional Practice: Proficiencies for Teaching and Beyond
Course Description:
Designed to engage teachers and aspiring teachers to examine teaching as a profession and develop the competencies to be effective professionals, as well as successful classroom teachers. Topics include writing for conference presentations or publication, writing proposals for small or large grants, and developing effective oral/written communication for a wide range of audiences. Explores how to engage and understand educational policy, unions, school politics, national/state regulations and initiatives, National Board Certification, as well as how to participate in other important aspects of professional practice. Education is not limited to a classroom.
