Course Title:
When the Ground Shook: Ideas That Changed the Way We Think about Teaching and Learning
Course Description:
Examines the thought and work of seminal writers in the past and present who have provided new ways to think about how students learn. From Johann Pestalozzi in the early nineteenth century to Carol Gilligan in the late twentieth century, students are introduced to the writing of individuals whose foundational ideas shook the educational world in their time and beyond it and left enduring legacies for classroom teachers today.
