Ecological Principles
Course Description:
Introduces students to general ecology. Focuses on major ecological concepts in order to provide students with a robust framework of the discipline upon which they can build. Each discussion is organized around two to four major concepts to present the student with a manageable and memorable synthesis of the lecture materials, and those materials are supported by case histories that provide evidence for the concepts and introduce students to the research approaches used in the various areas of ecology. Special emphasis is given to local environmental problems that selected countries face and the approaches they use in solving these problems. Laboratory included.
