The Science of Nursing
Course Description:
Introduces basic concepts in philosophy of science and the development of knowledge. Explores the historical development and themes for knowledge building in nursing and health care. Offers students an opportunity to analyze different ways of knowing and world views as they relate to the development of programs of research in nursing. Content from this course is applied to each student’s area of research interest. The examination of the scientific literature, identification of gaps in knowledge, and the development of research questions are completed to begin the process of developing a research plan.
