Theory and Conduct of Urban, Practice-Oriented Research
Course Description:
Provides students with an opportunity to develop an understanding of common paradigmatic approaches and research methods for studying health-care questions with urban populations. Enables successful students to apply content from other research and urban health courses to the specific needs and challenges encountered when conducting research on urban health problems. Includes topics such as community-based research, multilevel methods, recruitment and retention of urban populations for participation in research, research with non-English-speaking populations, and methodologic approaches for studying health disparities.
