Children in America: Sociological and Policy Perspective
Course Description:
Presents an introduction to the study of children, their problems, and various policy options to resolve these problems. While based on a sociological foundation, the course moves toward an interdisciplinary perspective in exploring such issues as education, family violence, health care, and juvenile justice, among others. The course is guided by the principles of social action advocacy in the children’s public policy arena.
