Nursing Administration Practicum 2

Course Description:

Continues NUR G500. Students have an opportunity to continue to work directly with a nursing administrator preceptor in a clinical setting, with the goal of building on the individual behavioral objectives established in the preceding courses Seeks to provide students with a concentrated experience implementing the multifaceted role of the nurse administrator. Students are expected to expand their focus to include responsibility for the daily operation of nursing-care units. To the extent feasible, students practice autonomously, with the preceptor and faculty as resources. Concurrent weekly seminars focus on an array of issues surrounding the role of the nursing administrator. Includes computer applications of management information systems through laboratory and practice exercises. Requires students to practice in the clinical setting approximately twenty hours per week.
