Acute-Care Nursing Practicum 1
Course Description:
Designed to provide the student with the opportunity, in the first of three clinical practica, to focus on the assessment, preventative, and health maintenance aspects of acute and episodic health care to adults. The clinical practice focuses on the multiple factors affecting the adult patient across the life span. The application of theory to the care of these patients through participation, observation, and research is facilitated by assignment to a nurse preceptor. Weekly seminars focus on an array of issues surrounding the role of the advanced practice nurse. Requires students to practice in the clinical setting approximately twenty hours per week.
