Course Description:
Provides students with a foundation in the business content of nursing administration. Emphasis is on the decision-making process involved in assuring that total organizational spending is kept to a level that can be met by total receipts (financial management) and the management of the exchange process between an organization and its “publics” by which both parties satisfy their needs and wants (marketing). Examines both topics from the nurse administrator’s perspective. Discusses the current financing of health care.
