Course Description:
Covers electronic techniques for experimental research in many different fields of science. Focuses on principles of semiconductor devices; analog techniques (amplification, feedback, and integration); digital techniques (counting, multiplexing logic); design of electronic subsystems (analog-to-digital converters, phase-sensitive detectors, and data-logging systems); and understanding specifications of commercial electronic equipment. In lab examples, makes use of up-to-date integrated discrete devices such as are currently used in the electronics industry.
