Course Title:

				Women, Feminism, and the Law

			Course Description:

Analyzes the way the U.S. legal system deals with legal issues involving women, including gender discrimination, reproductive rights, and violence against women. Because gender bias arises in a wide range of contexts, some of the readings may seem familiar from other courses (such as, for example, constitutional law, family law, welfare law, and employment discrimination). However, the emphasis here is quite different. Instead of doctrine, we focus on historical context; theory; and practical, strategic, and policy concerns. In short, the course is essentially about the feminist practice of law.
