Explores the basic elements of real estate transactions-the acquisition, permitting, and financing of real estate development, with an emphasis on affordable housing. An affordable housing transaction serves as the basis for the course discussions. Discusses the economic considerations (including basic tax benefits) and risk elements of real estate development. Course materials include typical transactional documents. Includes one or more in-class drafting exercises to help focus the discussion of the issues.
