Course Description:
Introduces students to fundamental concepts and unresolved problems in the field of international law. Discusses historical and contemporary theoretical debates about the roles and utility of international law. Introduces students to the sources of international law and to methods of international dispute resolution in domestic and international fora. Explores the part that international law has played (or failed to play) in the prevention or conduct of war, the promotion of human rights and international economic development, and the protection of the environment.
