Provides an overview of the field of knowledge management. Knowledge is a key strategic resource in today’s economy, and organizations must create and share it effectively to be successful. Some of the most creative applications of information technology are those that enable teamwork, communication, problem solving, and innovation. Examines how knowledge differs from data and information, the role knowledge plays in organizations, and the role information technology can play in managing that knowledge.
