Ethics and Health Policy
Course Description:
Examines some of the values implicit in health-care policy from both theoretical and applied perspectives. Considers the role medical ethics can and should play in forming health policy and studies the tension between the moral interests of populations and those of individuals. Possible issues for study include the ethics of managed care and consumer-driven health care, the pricing and marketing of medicines, and the role of medicines in global justice.
