Course Description:
Continues NUR G431. Offers the final course in the series focusing on the acquisition of clinical skills and expertise necessary for patient management of the high-risk neonate and family. Provides the student with intensified experience in the hospital neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) providing direct care under the supervision of NNP or neonatologist preceptors. The student is responsible for daily management of a specified caseload of neonates and their families. Proficient delivery room management of the high-risk neonate is an expectation. The student should exhibit the ability to function as an independent novice practitioner with preceptor support.
