Health Policy and Law
Course Description:
Examines health policy and health laws by advanced practice nurses from the perspective of issues pertinent to public health, populations, communities, their health care, and its coordination. Reviews and criticizes court decisions, legislation, federal, and state regulatory activities relevant to health care and health policy initiatives. Discusses the concept of continuous quality improvement through the development of standards of care and evaluation outcomes. Explores health care as a vital part of a national care agenda. Concepts are presented for application through the manager-as-developer model, which includes influence, vision, two-way communication, autonomy, team building, and development.
