Forensic Concepts for Health-Care Professions
Course Description:
Prepares the health-care professionals to identify, document, and refer for effective follow-up care those patients across the life span who are victims of violence and whose cases may be pursued in a court of law. Discusses in detail recognition, collection, and handling of evidence, written and photographic documentation, and testifying as a witness or expert witness. Explores the cultural legal, ethical, political, and social ramifications of violence and their impact on the practice of health-care professionals. Includes interdisciplinary presentations.
