Course Description:
Building on the knowledge of the health assessment process and primary-care concepts, discusses how to provide family-focused primary care, bridging the content learned in the adult and pediatric courses. Emphasizes the integration of the assessment and management of the changing structure of family units throughout the childbearing years into the role of the family nurse practitioner. This knowledge is applied in the clinical learning experience where prenatal and postnatal care is provided to families.
