Course Description:
Focuses on the assessment, preventive, and health maintenance theories of primary health care utilized by the advanced practice nurse. Includes the impact of political, psychological, sociological, and physiological factors on the health-care continua of adolescent/adult/older adult. Considers the adult/family developmental life cycle continuum for assessing and instituting primary-care strategies. Explores self-modeling of health behaviors and institution of primary and secondary preventive strategies in the home, community, workplace, and primary-care facility.
