Knowledge, Development, and Inquiry
Course Description:
Offers the first course in the research sequence for the graduate program in nursing. Addresses the development of nursing science with emphasis on the relationship between theory building and research for the discipline and advanced nursing practice. The student begins an in-depth analysis of the research process and has the opportunity to apply knowledge of research methodology to the development of an innovative research project (proposal) on a health-related topic relevant to nursing. Course activities are aimed at assisting the student to develop skills as a participant/leader of a clinically based research project and as a leader in the utilization of research to improve nursing practice.
