Introduction to Particle and Nuclear Physics
Course Description:
Introduces the physics of atomic nuclei and elementary particles. Topics include classification of nuclei, strong and weak nuclear forces, mesons and nucleons, quarks and gluons, and unified theories of elementary particle interactions. For students with undergraduate degrees in fields other than physics or lacking preparation in one or more of the topics covered in the required first-year graduate courses.
