Focuses on the basic concepts of epidemiology, causes of disease, factors contributed by agents, the human host, and the environment. Examines the acquisition and evaluation of data, as well as the relationship of person, time, and place. Reviews case studies and problems including diet and cancer, causes of heart disease, and a review of the AIDS epidemic.
