Examines the nexus of professions, practices, and institutions that constitute the field of biomedicine. Explores the historical roots and cultural foundations of biomedicine. Maps the industrial terrain and identifies opportunities and issues for professional communicators. Students research and report on current changes in biomedical industry, focusing on identifying new opportunities for writers in biomedicine. Is geared to help students acquire research and writing skills, and develop the ability to think in terms of complex institutions so as to locate and articulate opportunities for professional communication.
