Course Description:
Presents a history of American film from its beginnings to the present. Pays particular attention to the way we negotiate social norms and values, reproduce or contest dominant ideologies, and represent (or fail to represent) their historical movement. Films range from _Birth of a Nation_ to _Citizen Kane_ to _The Godfather_ to _Thelma and Louise_.
