Racism and American Criminal Justice
Course Description:
Provides students with an overview of the role and treatment of racial/ethnic minorities in the criminal justice system. Provides students with historical and theoretical frameworks for understanding the relationship between race, crime, and criminal justice. In doing so, students become familiar with trends and patterns in criminal offending by racial/ethnic minorities, as well as system response to such behavior.
